Kassinurme campfire site
Jõgeva County, Tartu-Jõgeva Recreation Area
Kassinurme campfire site is at Vaiga-Kassinurme hillfort. The site is one of the oldest sacred places in Estonia. This is the favourite place for history lovers, where ancient war games are organised, old folk customs are revived and holidays of the folk calendar are celebrated. A fragment of the ancient fort has been restored, there are several information boards.

| Driving directions | On Tartu-Jõgeva Road (no. 39) drive 7.5 km towards Tartu and turn left. After crossing the railway turn left (follow the sigm "Kassinurme linnamäed"), drive 1.2 km, turn right and after 200 m you arrive at the parking area. The campfire sites are in the territory of the hill fort. |
